Contributors
Become a Contributor
Publish original articles, legal commentary and analysis, academic research, journalism, poetry, short stories and novels for readers around the world. Every application is reviewed, and every work is subject to editorial approval before publication.
How to apply
1. Create a contributor account
Contributors must be 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into the Contributor Publishing Agreement.
2. Confirm your email
Open the link we send you. Your account stays inactive until you confirm.
3. Accept the Contributor Publishing Agreement
Read and accept the current version before you submit your application.
4. Complete and submit your application
Tell us about yourself, your areas of writing and, optionally, your professional experience and portfolio.
5. Review
Every application is reviewed. You will be told by email if it is approved or declined, or if more information is needed.
Approval gives you a contributor dashboard and a public contributor profile. It does not by itself publish any work: each submission is reviewed under the Editorial Standards and Publication Policy.
Free contributors
Applying and contributing are free. Government-issued identification is not required by default; we may ask for it only where a documented legal, regulatory, security, fraud-prevention or compliance reason requires it. Professional credentials are optional, and a credential badge is shown only after the credential has been verified.
Paid contributors
A paid contributor membership (CAD $10 per month or CAD $120 per year, subject to applicable taxes) is optional and is a route toward monetization eligibility. It requires an approved application, acceptance of the Monetization and Earnings Policy, government-ID verification and legal capacity. Paid membership is not yet available, and no one is charged.
Earnings
Approval as a contributor, identity verification, or payment of a contributor subscription does not independently establish monetization eligibility or guarantee earnings. Monetization is decided separately for each publication under the Monetization and Earnings Policy.
You keep your copyright. We publish under the licence set out in the Contributor Publishing Agreement; see also the Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy.
